Google Plus Codes, also known as "Open Location Codes," are a way to identify locations that might not have specific addresses, like a specific spot in a large park. It's a simple and efficient system developed by Google. We can use Google Plus Codes to pinpoint your location on our maps and ensure that we can find your house or business quickly and easily. Ensuring a speedy install or service call.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to retrieve your Google Plus Code:

Step 1: Access Google Maps

  1. Open your web browser: This could be Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox, or any other browser you usually use.
  2. Go to Google Maps: Type `maps.google.com` in the address bar at the top of your browser and press `Enter`. This will take you to the Google Maps website.

Step 2: Find Your Location

  1. Search for a specific location (if you have one in mind): Click on the search bar at the top left corner of the Google Maps page, type the name of the place or address, and press `Enter`. Or, you could also click and drag the map to find your location. You can scroll your mouse to zoom in and out.
  2. Use your current location: If you want the Plus Code for where you are right now, make sure your device's location services are on. There's usually a small target-like icon on the Google Maps interface you can click to center the map on your current location.

Step 3: Retrieve the Plus Code

  1. Right-click on the map: Once you've found the location you want the Plus Code for, right-click on that exact spot on the map.
  2. Select 'What's here?': A small menu will pop up after you right-click. Click on the option that says “What's here?”.
  3. View the Plus Code: A box at the bottom of the screen will appear with a series of numbers and letters – these numbers are your GPS location in the world. Click the numbers and a sidebar will open on the left displaying all the available information for your desired location. One of these items is the Plus Code. It might look something like “7G8V+R9, Camperville”.

Step 4: Copy or Note Down the Plus Code

  1. Copy the Plus Code: In the information panel that opened, next to the PLus Code there is an icon that you can click to 'Copy' the Plus Code to your clip board. Or, you can highlight it with your mouse and right-click to select 'Copy', or simply write it down if you need to use it elsewhere.

Tips and Troubleshooting

  • If you're having trouble, make sure you have a stable internet connection.
  • If you’re using a smartphone or tablet, the process is similar. Just use the Google Maps app instead of a web browser.
  • Remember, the Plus Code is unique to each location, so be precise about where you click.

Safety Note

  • Be cautious about sharing your current location's Plus Code publicly, as it can pinpoint your exact location.
